Kim got some great photos from our appearance Sunday at the Winter Park Art Festival. I posted a handful in a flickr photoset here. We featured a solo by guest vocal percussionist Rubox near the end of the set.
See the background detail on this one; in the upper right you can see Bob and Max, some choir friends of mine from church, and work colleague Darlene.
Busy weekend – Smothers Brothers friday night with the P’s; Gina’s dual regatta Saturday morning; Asleep at the Wheel at the Orange Blossom Opry Saturday night; Makeshift on stage at the Winter Park Art Festival Sunday morning; and family and birthday cake for G later today. whew. Gina’s 3rd 8 boat won their race. We were 4th row center for Smothers and 7th row center section for the show last night. I got a pretty good cell phone photo of AATW.

Our quartet has recently welcomed local beatbox performer Rubox Cube (Scott P.) as a guest percussionist. He joined us on stage at our outdoor Winter Springs stage show last Friday night and when he pitches in with his beats on such numbers a Zombie Jamboree or Its Alright, he instantly brings us to a dynamic new musical dimension and energy level. Scott is fellow UCF employee, and a nice humble guy. He’s busy and active in the hip hop club scene, check out his myspace blog.
He’ll join us again next weekend at our Winter Park Art Festival gig (Sunday 3/22 11am), and we look forward to more collaborations in the future.
I just slipped away for a couple days at Long Point, my favorite getaway. Although this time of year, the place is overrun with snowbirds in RV’s, I got this little slice of waterfront beauty. Only $27 bucks a night, and it comes with electricity. I had great weather, no bugs, bratwurst on the campfire after dark, and a full pot of hot coffee at dawn.
