  1. Thanks for the memory! This was me some 62 years ago as a sophomore singing in my high school male quartet at a convention of the American Legion in Storm lake, Iowa. For that group we were the Marcus American Legion Quartet. We also served as the Marcus Masons, Marcus Rotary, Marcus Methodist and Marcus Better Business Quartets (amoung others) as we sang all over Iowa. We had a unique blend and sang classic male quartet, pop and barbershop numbers (a cappella). We won high chool first place state honors two years in a row. And we even recorded a 78 inch disc—-now lost to me, but reportedly one remains in the library of then member, Don Peters in San Diego. One other memberk Earl Rae has passed away, but our second tenor, Bill McDaniels also lives in California. Our son Bob, carries on this tradition.
